Restoration of the citizenship

The citizenship of Latvia may be restored to a person, who has lost the citizenship of Latvia as a result of the choice made by his/her parents or adopters, a legal error or an illegal deprivation of citizenship. It is restored at a person's request by a decision of the Cabinet of Ministers.

An application requesting for restoration of the citizenship of Latvia shall be submitted to the any regional branch of the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs.
